چکیده
The case was a male patient, 65 years old, with no relevant medical history, who was consulted due to painless swelling on the dorsal side of the fifth finger of the left hand which had lasted for 4 years, with no history of trauma. Physical examination confirmed the tumor, elastic on palpation, with preserved finger mobility (Fig. 1) Simple X-rays showed a soft tissue tumor (Fig. 2); the ultrasound demonstrated the same lesion and the MRI showed a lesion measuring 16 × 10 × 12 mm in diameter craneo-caudally, anteroposterior and transversely, unhomogeneous, with a hypointense signal and loculations on T1, predominantly hyperintense on T2 and showing moderate contrast enhancement (Fig. 3).

Extra-Articular Diffuse Giant Cell Tumor of the Tendon Sheath: A Report of 2 Cases
Two rare cases of extra-articular diffuse variant giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath are presented, at the elbow of a 68-year-old female and the foot of a 56-year-old male. Both patients presented with a palpable masses and marginal excision was performed; histological sections confirmed the diagnosis of extra-articular giant cell tumor. No adjuvant therapy was administered. At the last fo...
متن کاملA Case Report of Giant Cell Tumor of the Tendon Sheath after Treatment of Germ Cell Tumor of Testicles in a 7-year-old boy
Germ cell tumors account for 2 to 3% of all cancers in children. These tumors appear in the testicles as painless masses. The primary treatment of these tumors is the removal of testicles and chemotherapy. Giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath (GCTTS) is slow-growing tumor and the primary treatment of this tumor is surgery and both surgery and radiotherapy in invasive type. This report presents...
متن کاملGiant Cell Tumor of Tendon Sheath
Background: Giant cell tumor of tendon sheath (GCTTS) is often thought of as a volar finger mass. We hypothesized that GCTTS are equally common on the dorsal and volar aspects of the hand. In addition, we hypothesized that there are no factors associated with the location (volar versus dorsal) and largest measured dimension of a GCTTS. Methods: A total of 126 patients with a pathological dia...
متن کاملGiant cell tumor of patella: A case report and review of literature
Objective: Patella is a sesamoid bone which develops in the quadriceps tendon. It is an uncommon site for neoplasms. The most common primary tumors which involve patella are benign. These include chondroblastoma, giant cell tumor (GCT) and aneurysmal bone cyst. Malignant lesions are less common in patella. These encompass metastasis, osteosarcoma and hemangioendothelioma. The most common compla...
متن کاملA Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor Arising from Femoral Attachment of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament
The localized type of tenosynovial giant cell tumor usually occurs on the palmar side of fingers and toes. Tenosynovial giant cell tumors of the tendon sheath are rarely intra-articular. We report a giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath arising from femoral attachment of the anterior cruciate ligament and its treatment with arthroscopy in a 28-year-old man.
